Due to popular demand the cover art for the book is provided below. My main
motivation when designing the cover was to differentiate it from other technical
textbooks. The majority of programming textbooks have bland, uncreative, geometric
shapes on their covers; best known as "programmer art". I wanted to
do something more artistic and fun. The archeologist discovering the Mayan carvings,
complete with two programming priests, fulfilled my goals of an aesthetic and
humorous design. It was created entirely in Photoshop from the rough design
sketches to the final oil-painting-like finish. Many thanks to Sean Platter
for his artistic skill and talent. Please visit his website at www.studiosplatter.com
